From Log to Finished Furniture
At Black Forest Sawmill, custom furniture often starts long before the woodworking begins. We source hardwoods throughout Virginia's Shenandoah Valley, mill the logs, kiln dry the lumber and slabs, and build the finished piece in our Crimora, Virginia woodshop.
Because we're also a sawmill, we have access to unique slabs, figured hardwoods and one-of-a-kind pieces of wood that aren't available through a typical furniture store.
Whether you're looking for a live edge table, an epoxy river table, a desk or something completely unique, we can help develop the project from the wood selection through the finished piece.

Depending on your project, you may choose from black walnut, maple, cherry, oak and other locally sourced hardwoods.
